Weekend training on the Scouting Climbing Permit Scheme. We cover the scheme and the technical skills required to deliver climbing and abseil on artificial walls and towers in the Leadership role.
Note : This is a skills delivery course and does not include assessment. Candidates may need to spend time consolidating their learning and gaining experience before booking an assessment.
Note : A leadership scout climbing permit will allow you to be the instructor for up to two ropes at locations (such as scout facilities) that support instructors with a scouting permit.
Just £70 (Surrey Scouts) or £120 (out of county) for the weekend! Accommodation available.

This course delivers the knowledge and practical experience needed to undertake pre-use user checks on typical PPE encountered by those using a Scout climbing permit.
For those undertaking thorough examinations or interim examinations of PPE and operating as a designated Competent Person additional training and/or certification may be required. Please consult those with authority to appoint a competent person within your scouting hierarchy before undertaking the duties of a “competent person”.

Weekend training on the Archery GB Instructors Award. Covers the syllabus and technical skills required to set up the range and safely run archery sessions.
This course includes the multiple choice and practical session assessment required for granting of the Archery GB Instructors Award certificate.
Note: On achieving this award we will make a recommendation to your Scout assessor for the Scout Archery Permit, however granting of the permit cannot be guaranteed.
Price £220 for Scouts, £250 for non scout attendees

Training is available for those wishing to lead crossbow sessions. The weekend includes both training and assessment.
Once you have attended a weekend scout climbing permit training course you may wish to consolidate your skills before assessment. We can offer you opportunities to attend and ‘shadow’ an instructor running sessions.

We can run Scout Climber Badge days, getting your scouts through their climber badge in a day. Speak to us about selecting a suitable day.
We can assist Explorer Scouts in obtaining their activity centre service badge at Bentley Copse.
This has recently been completed by those completing their college work experience with us and following this up with additional volunteering days.

The badge requires five days of work. This is best accomplished by forming a Junior Service Crew for one of our weekend events.
