From open field pitches perfect for a first camp, to secluded woodland sites for groups who want to feel properly away from it all — Bentley Copse has been hosting Scout, Guide, School, Duke of Edinburgh and youth group camps in the Surrey Hills since 1918. With capacity for over 500 campers and options for both large and small groups, we have a great site to host your camp.
For many, camping at Bentley Copse means more than just a night under canvas. It is easy to build an exciting programme around your stay with over 30 activities on site – from archery and climbing to zip wire and bushcraft – and our own professional instructors on hand. Field camping
Roughly divided into top, centre and lower – our large camping field is ideal for large groups camps or events. Smaller groups may be allocated a ‘front’ location.
Numbered woodland sites
Thirteen numbered sites, which can be combined to create larger spaces, provide flexibility for groups of all sizes.
Parker woodland camping
The coniferous forest around Parker Lodge (F) / Little Lodge (G) provides an ideal location for large camps or those wishing the support of a building.
The Nest Lawn
Situated between The Nest (C) and Palmer House (D) this space can be used by groups hiring either building.
Bushcraft / Hammock camps
As well as the numbered pitches (1, 11, 12 and 13 are ideal) there are several locations around the site that could be used for a very small remote camping spot. Do ask us about these.
